The Aims of the Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood of Canada (UCBC)

The Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood of Canada (UCBC) is an organization of Catholic men, members of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada. The UCBC acts in co-ordination with the Ukrainian Catholic Church and a founding member of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and the World Congress of Free Ukrainians. UCBC has Eparchial Executives as well as local Branches in all Ukrainian Catholic Eparchies.

Organized in Saskatchewan in 1932, the Brotherhood, as a lay organization consisted of membership of men, women and young people. In 1944, UCBC became an organization of Ukrainian Catholic men only.

The UCBC aims as set out in its constitution are:  “to educate on the principles of Christian morality and ethics, its members and the Ukrainian Community in the religious, national and civil sphere of life in order to make them conscious, dignified, strong and active members of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and of the Ukrainian people, as well as loyal citizens of Canada.”

Membership in the UCBC is open to all Ukrainian Catholic men who are willing to commit themselves to work for the good of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, the Ukrainian people and Canada.

Branches of the Brotherhood are found in all Ukrainian Catholic Eparchies.

The National Executive with the blessing of our Ukrainian Catholic Hierarchy of Canada is conducting a Membership Drive this year.

Gentlemen: we invite you to join your existing local branch of the UCBC or organize a new one, where none exists.
